Cute countryside retreat

We stayed for 1 night and the garden was just beautiful! The room was comfy and clean, but it was kinda noisy due to traffic outside. Breakfast was decent, once we got rid of the flies. Staff was friendly except for one not-so-great reception experience. a nice place with some quirks.

Wonderful location and exceptional service

During our brief stay, the stunning location allowed us direct access to hiking trails, which was perfect for our outdoor plans. We found our room to be cozy and packed with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable night. The highlight, however, was the attentive and friendly service from the staff, making us feel truly welcomed. The breakfast selection was impressive, featuring fresh, local ingredients. On the downside, the mattress was a bit too soft for my preference.

The charming country house decor creates a cozy atmosphere, and the lovely gardens lead directly onto the Tissington Trail, making walks delightful for us seniors.

More comfortable seating in common areas would help.

Perfect for a quiet getaway

I had a lovely room with a four poster bed, which was spacious and gave me a real sense of charm. The breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of fruits and freshly cooked options that had me fully set for the day ahead.

It wasn’t the most affordable option, but definitely acceptable.

I loved how cozy my Standard Double Room felt, with its charming decor and warm ambiance! The breakfast was an absolute highlight, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients that set an energizing tone for our hiking adventures. Plus, having direct access to the Tissington Trail from the garden was a dream for this outdoor enthusiast!

It's just a decent option for a whistle-stop in Alstonfield with good value considering the price it charged. The staff were friendly and accommodating, which made our stay more pleasant despite the overall state of the place. Make sure to check the room thoroughly for cleanliness upon arrival.

The hiking trail behind the property is a fantastic addition, perfect for those traveling with dogs. The breakfast exceeded expectations with its variety and cooked-to-order options, and the staff provided warm and accommodating service throughout our stay. the room felt a bit cold during the winter, and while the atmosphere was delightful, the hotel is situated away from restaurants and nightlife, requiring a drive for dinner options.
